SHOULD BLACK PEOPLE CARE ABOUT PALESTINE? feat. Queen | STRANGER FRUIT | S2E3
In this episode of Stranger Fruit, Donovan sits down with Queen, one half of the dynamic podcast duo Tea with Queen and J, and the creator of Miss Vixen. Join us as we delve deep into the intricate relationships between the Black, Jewish, and Arab communities. Queen shares her unique perspective on anti-Semitism, Zionism, and the often overlooked anti-Black racism within the Arab world. We also discuss the impact of social media in amplifying these issues and the fear of losing career opportunities when speaking out against oppression. This conversation is filled with deep insights and powerful reflections on coalition-building and the importance of standing together in the fight for justice.
Next week, we continue with part 2 of our conversation with Queen, where we dive into the fear of speaking up for Palestinians and the power of media and its impact on the state of the world today.

Queen is still conflicted. She visibly flinched when Donovan called her dark skinned and kept repeatedly claiming to be on the ‘lighter side of dark’. Just because very deep brown people exist doesn’t mitigate the fact that most people see her as dark skinned. Full stop.

i am 3 races afro am native am euro am and ive experienced many issues the thing for me is that with my inner dialog despite the social conversations these forces have to actually get along in my head so i say for example (so called)black and white just go back and forth afguing or reasoning and with great reason yet everyone else is kept out of the convo when they all have valuable and liberating info for every type because were dealing with lessons learned, when thats our focus or skill especially. it also greatly effected me socially growing up because as far as relationships growing up where im from there wasnt anyone for me to relate too because my moms fam lived on the east coast my father was an adict i never met but i knew his fam as mine yet even though blood still unfamilliar or un usual and even though it was dificult the plus is that i got to know every part on a deeper level

Idiotic assertions! There is no white supremacy. Blacks who believe that have inferior complexes. We are not less than anyone. And every time our people assert white supremacy, it relegates us to defining ourselves an inferior.

We should care about all groups that are suffering around the world and that includes Haiti, Sudan, Yemen, etc. But we have to worry about our own community first because it is suffering. Sex trafficking is a huge problem, high std rates, poverty, domestic violence, etc. we have to go to bat for our own issues first.

The Arabs have tortured and enslaved black people for centuries. We are so busy caring about everyone else that we neglect ourselves. Who else does that? Black people are so conditioned to put others first. This is detrimental to our very existence. The Jews, Arabs and Christians have enslaved Africans for centuries by the millions. Who has been fought for us? This is why we remain on the bottom. This is not natural! I repeat... this is not natural or normal. When are we going to get our shit together? It's time to wake up.

Black ppl aren’t a monolith and I think this question hits different depending where you are in the world. I can understand why Americans feel connected to the struggle in Palestine but if you ask a West Papuan, where they are being colonized & tortured by Indonesia - a big supporter of Palestine - then I think you will get a different response. Same goes for Black Jews in Israel. Palestine is also part of the Arab league and they have a hand in what is happening to indigenous Black people in Sudan. The issue is deeply nuanced but I can understand why you are keeping it simple since most of your audience is probably American.

Views like hers are why Black people will be a perpetual underclass everywhere they exist. Misguided and misplaced priorities have been part of the problem for Black people in the U.S. post the Civil Rights Era, and is why Black folk can't get nothing. Stop falling for the okee-doke and stop being doormats for others. Black Americans have already given to humanity---the Civil Rights Movement was the blueprint for justice, freedom, and anti-oppression. What have others given us? We don't owe any other people anything.

Completely get the instinct to be apathetic to non black Arabs and Jewish people for their treatment of black people here and in Africa. I even understand activists who say, I wish them peace but I will remain on my assignment. But some of ya’ll sound so stupid because you know good and well you’re not doing any work or using any resources to support black people. You’re just using a genocide to center yourself in a conversation that is being had about life or death for thousands of human beings.

I think every biracial person's experience may be different. The most injustice and pain I have had has been with Black people because of being light skinned. Mainly within my family, majorly because in my mother's side they are dark skinned. On my father's side they are half west Indian and don't like Black people even though I am lighter than all of them. It's crazy, so I have to say fu.. most of my family because I have a right just to be me. I look Black mostly I think, but some think um Hispanic or white. So, here's where I am, we have to get to the point where we respect and love each other as (human beings) and determine if you can be around someone on their character and your mutual interests. I hope and pray one day this is possible.

It’s all racism, colorism is a ridiculous term.. No one wants a first generation biracial person to pander as a whole than the black community. A second generation biracial person, meaning a child born from two biracial parents,is a completely different experience which is rare. because society doesn’t promote that as a thing,it instead promotes that a biracial person choose either between white or black partners to assimilate into culture for acceptance, not to do your own thing or stay loyal to what you actually are..

Only the ruling party in Israel can use that phrase. From my understanding that phrase is in the Charter of the Luk. Party in Israel. I think it is more than anti - Semitic and also criminal when used by Palestinians. The Israelis used it first, they have the Patent on that phrase .The Zionist plan is to get rid of the Palestinians from the river to the sea. The Palestinians should get creative and get their own phrases.

This video reminds me of why I always loved the latinos in my school!! Ik this is stereotyping and americans hate thinking that a certain demographic has certain characteristics, but goddamn it its my experience! Im from Lithuania lived here til 14 yrs old, then my dad moved us to the US, and I still can’t explain exactly what it is but I could never relate to Americans, though I tried every day i always left my interactions with native born Americans feeling totally disconnected and misunderstood… but not with the latinos! My friend group quickly became the mexicans at my school and even though we spoke english, something about them and their culture felt more genuine, and I didnt feel like I had to yell loudly to make myself heard, or watch what I said all the time in case someone was offended. I could just be. Thats why I learned Spanish, I have much love for those people who made me feel less alien in a time in my life when I felt completely desolate and hopeless. Living in America taught me that culture goes far beyond the tangible, the explain-able, it shapes everything in our interactions w others.

  • @Algimantaz

Latinx is a symptom of the US’s arrogance thinking that they can dictate the terms spanish speakers use. I get that in English u have a right to create your own terms but PLEASE dont act like that term is in any way acceptable to latin American society. Also, enough of Americans defining Brazilians of mixed race as ‘black’, its a rather weird concept to assign that race to so many ppl who are clearly MIXED race.

A genocide ethnic cleansing illegal attacks on other states,?
